Miranda Hanson hails from Minneapolis, MN, and is a recent resident of Dayton, OH. She started playing piano and percussion at a young age and discovered her passion for music during high school marching band. She went on to play with independent ensembles after graduation, most notably River City Rhythm. Miranda has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the University of Minnesota, with an applied emphasis in percussion. She studied under Fernando Meza during her time there.

Miranda has been teaching percussion since 2019, including state-champion marching bands. She currently works with the Farmington Tiger Marching Band and Grove Area Percussion, teaching the front ensemble for both groups. Miranda has a technique-driven approach to playing instruments; she believes that having a strong foundation of the basics will allow players to achieve challenging music with more confidence and ease.

In her free time, Miranda enjoys baking, reading, and playing Animal Crossing. She is also a big fan of dogs, and plans to have several pets in the future. She looks forward to meeting new students and hopes to be considered as a piano or percussion teacher!
