About

Amy J. Russell is a native of Denver, and started violin at age four and piano at seven. Amy attended Interlochen Center for the Arts, Rocky Ridge Music Camp, played with the Young Artists Orchestra, and a piano solo with the Colorado Symphony. Amy participated in musical theater with favorite roles as Sandy in “Grease”, Bet in “Oliver” and Rosamund in “Robber Bridegroom”, and attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. Amy received the Fiske full-tuition scholarship and earned her Bachelors in Music, Piano Performance, with a minor in violin at the University of Colorado, Boulder. After college she was a traveling piano teacher, as well as earned her Masters in Social Work from Denver University. She worked with children, families and educators. Amy was the violinist and a vocalist with a folk-rock band and currently plays in a professional violin/guitar duo. Amy enjoys creative writing, the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
