Conia Almon Has been performing more than 30 years and has been teaching for the past 5 years. She has appeared off broadway and on television. She has performed in the 48 contiguous United States with the National touring theater company Flow Theater for a New Era. She won the 1st place in the 1988 NAACP ACT-SO (Academic Cultural Technical- Scientific Olympics) competition for Vocal Classical music in Columbus,Ohio. Conia has also worked as an On Air personality at AM 1580 WVKO The Praise the oldest African American radio station in Columbus, Ohio. Currently she has 2 bands she performs with called Ruby Slippers Jazz Ensemble and C-UNIT DaBand an R&B and classic soul band.
