About

Chas Waters is a multi-instrumentalist, musician, and producer based in San Antonio, Texas. He started playing music and singing at an early age, and quickly discovered a passion for writing and recording his own songs. He spent his youth playing in bands, both professionally and for fun, before attending Reinhardt University in Northwest Georgia. He graduated with a degree in Music Performance as a classically trained guitarist, and his education included masterclasses with luminaries like Pepe Ramiro. He currently serves as the worship band leader at Travis Park United Methodist Church. Aside from teaching and performing, Chas enjoys creating his own music under the name Cheap Charm, a recording project which mixes indie rock with elements of psychedelia and soul. Chas is available to teach entry level bass, guitar and ukulele to students of all ages. He’s also available to teach intermediate and advanced students guitar in a multitude of styles, including pop, rock, jazz, R&B, country, and folk. Chas’s teaching style balances structure with a desire to keep lessons fun and entertaining. He believes in equipping his students with the tools, space, and confidence they need to express themselves with joy and meaning. In the future, Chas looks forward to sharing his love of music and these same lessons with his young son, Oliver.
