About

Abigail Krauss began her musical journey in Dover, Ohio when she became involved in band playing French Horn and joined the choir as a soprano. This passion for music found early in her life led her to perform in several honors choirs, including the Ohio All-State Honor Choir at the OMEA conference, and later attend the University of Mount Union as a music performance major with a focus on voice. Training as a mezzo-soprano, she was chosen to perform in a masterclass under Metropolitan Opera tenor, Eduardo Valdes, and toured across the country and even internationally in Scotland with her university's Concert Choir. Her passion for performance continues as she performs as a Soprano II with the Summit Choral Society Metropolitan Chorus in Akron, OH. Through her experiences she was inspired to become a music teacher rather than a performer, and earned a degree in Music Education. Abigail then put her degree to use teaching music for two years in an urban school setting at East Cleveland City Schools and STEAM Academy of Warrensville Heights, and teaching privately under her own private studio. Under her instruction, students from ages K-12 had the opportunity to learn healthy vocal technique, classroom instruments, music literacy, music history, and music theory. Her philosophy as a teacher is that music is for all, whether they wish to pursue a career or simply like to make music for the joy of it; everyone deserves an equal opportunity to learn should they desire. Abigail enjoys living in Akron, OH with her husband, David, 1 year old son, Samuel, and their two cats Ollie and Missy.
