About

Soprano Anna Hylton is a teacher and performer based in Kent, Ohio. After working with Dr. Lara Troyer for 5 years, majoring in Voice Performance, and minoring in Japanese and World Music, she graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor's in Music. During her college experience, Anna studied as a Studio Artist at Nightingale Opera Company in Hudson, Ohio, worked with the Cleveland Chamber Choir directed by Dr. Scott MacPherson, and performed with the Kent State Opera Company under the direction of Marla Berg and Dr. Jay White. Recently, Anna has been taking some time off to focus on her health, but has been working with different church choirs in the meantime. Working with other teachers and great mentors has taught Anna many teaching skills and, as a newer teacher, her teaching style will be focused on the student's own individuality and love for their art. As a student herself, Anna is mainly focused on opera and classical singing, but loves to listen and teach more broadway and contemporary styles of voice performance. Other than teaching and performing, Anna enjoys cooking, hiking, and spending time with her fiancé, her two dogs, Pablo and Hunk, and her cat, Rascal.
