About

Ms. Jennifer Harker is a native of Marion, IL. She graduated with a B.A. in Music specializing in Vocal Performance with a former Metropolitan Opera teacher at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Started Masters in Music Education at Assumption University. Studied Voice in New York, NY with Metropolitan Opera Teacher in and also at College Conservatory of Music at University of Cincinnati.

Ms. Harker has performed solo renditions of the National Anthem for the Reds Baseball team many times and also other venues. Soloist for the Heartland Chamber Choral, Fort Wayne Symphony Orchestra, and Bach Collegium Chorus in Fort Wayne, IN. She continues her solo performances for choirs, weddings and special events throughout the greater Cincinnati area.

She has been in many professional musical theater productions such as Hodel in "Fiddler On The Roof", Shelia in "Crazy for You", "Oklahoma", "The Pajama Game", Ms. Lynch in "Damn Yankees", "Camelot", Grace in "High Tops", Maria in "The Sound of Music", and Officer Pudney in "Rumors". She has toured with the Marjorie Lawrence Children's Opera in "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", Princess Lanore in "Cheering Up A Princess" and "Many Moons" as Princess. She has performed many arias for "The Astor's Beechwood Mansion" in Newport, RI and was Music Director, Dance Teacher and Actress as Helen Schermerhorn Astor Roosevelt. Re-enactments of the Astor's Family from the 19th century. Tea Dances, Living History Tours, Christmas 12 course feast and Murder Mysteries. Lead vocalist in Handel's Messiah at the Marion Cultural Civic Center and on the board as a HS Student. Madrigals throughout college.

Mr. Harker has been a Music Teacher for grades Pre K-HS teaching chorus, show choir, general music,5-8th grade Band in public and private schools. My philosophy is the goal of music performance is to form an appreciation of music and encourage students of all ages to develop their own music identity. This is done through study and performance opportunities.

Mr. Harker has been recognized with "Who's Who in Music, All State Honors Choir, Best Jazz singer at Disney World Competition, Orchestra Competition winner at SIUC conservatory, Honorable Mention for the National Association Teachers of Singing, Outstanding Gospel Music Award in State Convention in IL, Arts and Music Festival Award and Mu Phi Epsilon Vice President.

Ms. Harker currently resides in the greater Cincinnati area with her husband and two daughters. She is teaching in private schools and subbing in public schools and also performs in choirs and solo acts and bands.
