About

Laura L. Hagan is 23 year old voice teacher, singer, level three pianist, clarinet player and multi-faceted songwriter and music engineer/producer. Born in Houston, Texas; her approach to teaching is holistic, heart-centered and fear-free; drawing on a strong background in vocal pedagogy and music education with having almost a decade of experience in performing, teaching and singing. She may be young in age, but her spirit is timeless.

Encouraged by her former teachers, Laura set off on the dream-chasing path at the relatively early age of nine, when she got her first official lead in a school musical which blossomed into teaching as a director's assistant in a state of the art music program at Homewood-Flossmoor High School. She grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago and enjoys making people smile while spreading the goodness of music and love. Laura picked up her first clarinet in sixth grade and her first keyboard at the age of twelve. She's performed with the award winning Viking Choir at world renowned music institutes including the Civic Opera House in Chicago, Wortham Theater Center in Houston, and Stavros Niarchos Hall in Athens, Greece. Laura is currently based in the south suburbs of Chicago, IL.

She trains, coaches and mentors singers of all levels, ages and musical styles. This year she launched her online workshop offering courses and training in Complete Vocal Technique and other instruments including piano and clarinet. A beginning sign language interpreter and fairytale princess at heart, Laura is regularly turning her own musical styles of Jazz, R&B, Blues, Gospel, [Neo]Soul, Alternative, and Soft Rock into real projects with her DIY (Do-it-yourself) home studio in a recently purchased condo under the stage name of "Lara Galaxy." In her personal art, Laura takes you on an ethereal and esoteric trip into the mind boggling wonders of this world; aligning her stories and passion with topics such as personal truth and speaking your mind, confidence, internal beauty and nostalgia.

Laura would like nothing more than to continue spreading the joy of music to anyone willing to learn. Her current leisure work includes taking care of a one year old Pitbull Mix puppy named Sai, rollerskating, visiting her family, going on long walks and adventures, driving with Amazon Flex and growing an indoor garden. Laura's current album, "I hope this helps you feel," will be centered in healing through relationship trauma and finding peace in solidarity. This project is expected to be released in spring of 2023.
