About

Born and raised in the suburbs of Long Island, New York, Bobby Green began studying piano and music theory at the age of 8. As he entered high school, his interests shifted towards rock music, and he began performing in local bands as a keyboardist. These interests have followed him to Nashville, as he currently performs with local jam band Blue Sky Revival, while also writing his own music under the moniker TATARBA, working as a live sound engineer, and acting as a freelance film composer and music producer. Bobby has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Business and Philosophy from SUNY Oneonta, with a minor in Audio Arts Production, and a Master of Music degree in Media Scoring & Music Production from the University of Miami, where he studied under award-winning composers and orchestrators such as Carlos Rafael Rivera (The Queen’s Gambit, Hacks) and Chris Boardman (Die Hard, The Color Purple, Silverado). Bobby began sharing his knowledge of music with others as a teacher just before graduating high school, and now has over a decade of experience teaching beginner, intermediate, and advanced students of all ages in private, ensemble, and classroom settings. Bobby’s teaching style is flexible to the needs and interests of the student, but typically favors a music theory focused approach, built on a philosophy that students will have an easier time learning how to play the piano if they understand what they are playing and why. Rock and popular music are Bobby’s specialty, but he has also studied classical and jazz piano. In addition to piano and keyboard performance, Bobby also offers lessons in music theory, music production, and songwriting/composition. Bobby currently resides in the Berry Hill area of Nashville, and enjoys fiction novels, film, video games, and tennis in his downtime.
