Cyrus DeShield was born into a musical influenced family but was the second to pursue it professionally. Taking piano lessons from his aunt at the tender age of 7, Cyrus was able to begin developing a trained ear. Growing up in Liberia and Ivory Coast young Cyrus found himself in the Children's choir and Adults Choir because of his range.
At the age of 15 years old Cyrus won the Amateur night at Apollo and his dream of being a performer was born.
By 17 years old Cyrus had a record deal with Interscope Records while being apart of a quartet that specialized in vocal harmonies.
Through out the years Cyrus was able to learn vocal production from the likes of Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men, "vocal producer extraordinaire" Erick Dawkins and many of the music industries songwriters which helped shape Cyrus as a Songwriter and Vocal arranger/Producer.
It was not until 2011 when Cyrus decided to dive into music production and got his break few years later writing 50% Bell Biv Devoe return album in 2017 and co writing with Musiq Soulchild landing Cyrus his first Grammy Nomination for the Album also in 2017.
Cyrus is Recording Academy Member and has hosted online classes teaching songwriting and vocal production from time to time.
Being a Liberian American Cyrus was Awarded "outstanding achievement " for his work.
Cyrus spent some of his time coaching and teaching songwriting and vocals to young hopefuls like the American Idol Contestant Kay Kay Alexis from the age of 12 and other Independent Artist of all ages from the New England Area and New York areas.
Cyrus's focuses on details and techniques, starting from discipline to more fun as the lessons progress.
Today Cyrus is still writing for other Artist, releasing music of his own and has been Touring with Musiq Soulchild.
