About

Jimin Lee, born in Daejeon, South Korea is a Soprano and holds international recognition, having received awards in multiple competitions across the globe. In Korea, Jimin placed second at the Sinye Music Competition in 2011 and also received the ‘PADAF’ Music award in 2016. In the United States, Jimin was the winner of the Kenwood Symphony Orchestra’s 22nd Annual Masters Concerto and Aria Competition and will perform as a soloist with the Symphony in 2021.

Jimin began her concert career in the Young Artist Debut Concert in the Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra in 2014. In Korea, She has performed as Contessa from the Opera ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’ at Sookmyung Women’s University, as Magda from the Opera ‘La Rondine’, Zerlina from the Opera ‘Don Giovanni’, Marguerite in ‘Faust’, Nedda in ‘I Pagliacci amongst other roles. In the United States, she prepared Blanche from the Opera 'Dialogue des Carmelites’ and for spring 2021 will perform Governess from the Opera 'Turn of the Screw’.

Jimin Lee earned a Bachelor of Music degree in voice from Sookmyung Women’s University in Seoul and her Master of Music degree in voice performance from the University of Texas at Austin. Currently, she is candidate for doctoral studies an a lyric soprano at University of Minnesota School of Music in Minneapolis where she has studies with Victoria Vargas. She also teaches voice and piano lessons in the Twin Cities area.
