About

Nehemiah Chen is from Orange County, and has been performing and participating in orchestras, choruses, and bands since he was young. Being that his mom was a piano teacher, he started playing the piano before he could walk. Expanding on this musical beginning, he took up the violin and also sang in the Pacific Chorale Children's Choir in elementary school. In middle school and high school, he continued his musical journey through youth orchestras and competitions, including the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra and All-Southern and All-State Orchestras. In high school he learned the guitar and has been a member of numerous bands since then, as lead and background vocalist, guitarist, bassist, violinist/fiddler, and mandolinist.
Nehemiah attended the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, pursuing a degree in vocal performance with an emphasis in opera. While there, he studied with Shigemi Matsumoto, and had the pleasure of working with world renowned singers such as soprano Roberta Alexander, and performing in the Opera Institute’s productions of Mozart’s Don Giovanni, The Magic Flute, and Donizetti’s Elixir of Love. He has more recently been involved in several Orange County based choirs and a cappella groups including the Long Beach Chorale, and the Men in Blaque, whom he has competed and performed with internationally.
Currently, Nehemiah lives in Hollywood where he is performing, teaching, DJing, and also pursuing careers in acting and modeling.
