Born and raised in Cardiff, Wales, violist, violinist and composer Bernard Kane began his musical studies as a chorister at the Metropolitan Cathedral of St David in Cardiff, before commencing studies on violin - and later viola.

Bernard holds degrees from the University of British Columbia (Doctor of Musical Arts), Yale University (Master of Music), and the Royal College of Music, London (Bachelor of Music with Honours), Bernard recently completed a Certificate in Film Scoring and Composition at UCLA Extension, with Distinction.

As a performer and recording artist, Bernard has worked with: Quincy Jones, Natalie Cole, Lorna Luft, Roger Daltry, Ricky Martin, Michael Sheen, Michael Giacchino, The Proclaimers, Arvell Shaw, Manic Street Preachers and Julian Lloyd Webber.

Currently living in Los Angeles, Bernard has taught violin, viola and music theory for over the past 30 years to students ranging from ages 4 to 80 years old.
