Cameron Chang is a Vocalist/Actor/Performer/Teacher, based in San Diego, CA. He began performing and singing at the age of 8, and has 18 years of vocal performance experience. Some early experience includes performing in many local musicals, training in voice with esteemed vocal coaches, singing at professional fundraising and sponsorship events, and participating in his high school’s theatre conservatory program. In his senior year of high school, Cameron was awarded Best Actor at the Broadway San Diego Awards, and went on to be the runner-up for Best Actor at the Jimmy Awards in New York City.

Cameron is a recent graduate of Otterbein University where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. While at Otterbein, Cameron played leading roles in several musicals and plays including Snoopy! (Snoopy), Macbeth (Malcolm), and Next to Normal (Gabe). He studied under acclaimed Broadway actors including longtime Lion King performer Thom Christopher Warren and Shakespeare veteran and expert Mark Mineart. Cameron also had the distinct joy of performing on his college Improv Comedy team, "Mainstage Improv", and he directed his own productions including readings of new works and staged versions of film sequences.

Cameron’s professional credits include The Wizard of Oz (Scarecrow) at Sierra Repertory Theatre, King Leo’s New Clothes (King Leo) at Legoland California Resort and the National Tour of Dogman: The Musical (Petey), where the cast had the honor of performing for Lin Manuel Miranda and his son.

As a vocalist and performer, Cameron has been praised for his authentic rock tenor sound, clean vocal technique, and soulful, honest delivery. He is passionate about sharing his love of performance with young artists and helping them find their true, authentic voice. He specializes in voice lessons for musical theatre, with an emphasis in a modern rock, pop, and R&B sound. He also teaches vocalists of all types, and has an an adequacy and adaptability for multiple musical genres. Cameron’s teaching approach emphasizes experimentation, technique, humor, and confidence. In addition to his love for performance and teaching, Cameron is an avid film buff and enjoys writing reviews and analyses on movies. You can also find him cheering on his favorite NBA team, the Lakers.
