About

As a worship pastor, Tim has been leading praise bands, choirs, and church orchestras for 20 years. When not at church, his passion is teaching others to love making music. The son of musician parents who started him on piano at an early age, he went on to earn an Associate in Music (trombone and voice) from Truett McConnell College (now University), a Bachelor of Music Education (trombone) from the University of Georgia (go Dawgs!), and a Master of Divinity (music & theology) from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Now, Tim focuses most often on guitar (acoustic, electric, and bass) and is fluent in a wide range of musical genres. Aside from leading music for multiple weekly services at church, he sings and plays bass regularly with the Sons of Jubal, a large male chorus composed of worship leaders, choral directors, and pastors from around Georgia. Most recently, Tim participated in the group's UK tour and had a chance to perform as part of Prom Praise at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Tim also participates in leading several student music camps each year, teaching everything from electric guitar to bucket drums to advanced music notation.

As a teacher, he aims to nurture each student's interest in music and to help them develop the skills necessary to begin their musical journey on a solid path. His ultimate goal is to cultivate not only musical ability, but passion.
