About

Scott Cummings is originally from Chico a small town in Northern California.

After receiving his bachelor's degree from Chico State he quickly outgrew his small hometown and moved to Southern California to pursue music full-time.

Upon arrival, he immersed himself in the music scene playing everything from jam sessions to recording sessions and gigs of all kinds.

This also led to teaching stints in Los Angels at a youth center, 2 music stores in Long Beach, and a church daycare program in Cerritos all while holding down weekly gigs in Long Beach, and Anaheim Hills, and playing in a house band in a Laguna Beach church.

After a while, he became restless and decided to go back to school opting to get a master’s degree in Jazz Studies at Cal Arts where he studied Jazz Drums with Joe Labarbera (Bill Evans, Tony Bennett) and Aaron Serfaty (Arturo Sandoval, Sergio Mendez), Percussion with Randy Gloss (Ziggy Marley) and Tabla with the legendary Swapan Chaudhuri (Ali Akbar Khan, Pandit Ravi Shankar, etc).

In addition to playing music, he loves to work out, surf, and spend time with his wife Kimmie, and 3 kids Maddox, Elise, and Teo.
